About the role The trainee intern will be involved in the following activities such as assisting in data collection and surveying and assisting with parking studies and policies. The intern will also be involve in Assessment of Development Applications plus Investigate and implement parking initiatives and do a proper Assessment parking or traffic matters. Roles and Responsibilities Provide engineering and technical support to engineering staff. Assist engineers in developing traffic engineering project plans, specifications, and estimates. Become familiar with design standards and the MUTCD. Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD design software. Conduct engineering studies for signal installation, crosswalk installation, street lighting, and traffic collision reduction. Prepare reports and recommendations. Assist engineers with signal timing and the operation of an adaptive signal system (SCATS). Learn to create signal models and conduct analysis using Synchro modeling software. Perform and manage data collection using cameras, traffic counts, field visits, and SCATS software. Analyze and summarize data and prepare report Requirements: Currently enrolled as a Civil Engineering or Pre-Engineering undergraduate student Strong interest in transportation Knowledge of or desire to learn AutoCAD
